Forcing a scalar run

Now that OpenMP building is active by default, it is useful to have the possibility of forcing scalar behaviour (or to control the number of threads used)

This is easy achieved in linux by typing

  export OMP_NUM_THREADS=1

just before launching the run, to force the use of one threads or for example

  export OMP_NUM_THREADS=8

to force using 8 threads.

Note that by default in ubuntu the variable OMP_NUM_THREADS is set to the number of cores available in the system
