The Analysis Type options must be chosen in this menu. Accurate choices here simplify the next steps, because the options in other menus are increased or decreased according to these choices.

Structural Type Options:

-Beam, for structures with beams only.

-Shell, for structures with shells only. They are thin structures with 2 main dimension and resist membrane stresses, bending torques and shear stresses. 3D analysis only.

-Membrane, for structures with membranes only, understanding membranes as thin layers with no flexion or shear stiffness. 3D analysis only.

-Solid, for structures disretized internally. The body must be meshed with elements (triangles or quadrilaterals in 2D, tetrahedra and hexahedra in 3D).

-Generic, for structures with mixed types, containing parts from all the previous structural types.

Kinematic Type Options:

-Small Displacements. The calculation of the strain follows the small strain hypotheses.

-Large Displacements. The calculation of the strain follows the large strain hypotheses.

Solution Type Options:

-Static. The equilibrium of the structure is found from the boundary conditions, loads and materials chosen. The deformation is unique.

-Dynamic. The equilibrium is being found as loads or time are increased.

-Relaxed Dynamic. The equilibrium is being found as loads or time are increased, but inertia terms are neglected.

Analysis Type Options:

-Linear. The equilibrium of the structure is calculated by solving a system of equations once, neglecting all the possible consequences of updating the geometry, loads, boundary conditions and material status.

-Non-Linear. The equilibrium of the structure is calculated iteratively, updating the geometry, loads, boundary conditions and material status until convergence is achieved.
